What is Bloom's Taxonomy..?Bloom's Taxonomy is a multi-tiered model of classifying thinking according to six cognitive levels of complexity. Throughout the years, the levels have often been depicted as a stairway, leading many teachers to encourage their students to "climb to a higher (level of) thought". This thinking classification is designed by Dr Benjamin Bloom in 1956.Bloom's Taxonomy model is in three parts, or 'overlapping domains'. Again, Bloom used rather academic language, but the meanings are simple to understand:
Revised Bloom's Taxonomy (RBT)This chart below will help educators see the value of embedding technology into their curriculum instead of relying on lecture, test format. By giving opportunities for students to analyze and create new media they are using higher-order thinking skills that are much more advanced than just “remembering” content for a test. Remembering – This element of the taxonomy does infer the retrieval of material. This is a key element given the growth in knowledge and information.
